OSTROJ Hansen+Reinders

The very beginnings of Ostroj Company production of electrical equipment for potentially explosive atmospheres date back to 1958. At that time, the company based its production on electrical equipment for mining machinery determined for use in underground mines of the then existing Czechoslovak Republic.

After 1990 the Electrical Equipment Division Ostroj Opava, s. p. Company joined its strategic foreign partner Hansen & Reinders GmbH & Co. (hereinafter called H+R).

In 1991 H+R and Electrical Equipment Division Ostroj Opava, a. s., a joint-stock company, made an agreement on co-operation. The agreement concerned production of flameproof enclosures for H+R Company and providing service for equipment delivered to OKD (Mines in the region of Ostrava and Karviná). This kind of co-operation proved effective and it led to the establishment of a new company by both partners in 1992.

The actual economic activity of this daughter limited company called Ostroj-Hansen+Reinders, spol. s r.o., (hereinafter only OHR) commenced on 1.3.1993. Ing. Josef Šimeček became an executive of this company who also represents the statutory body of the company and deals as its CEO. The new OHR Company had its first head office at premises of Ostroj, a. s., Co. until in 2001 lands and buildings belonging to Ostroj Opava, a. s., were acquired. By the end of 2001 construction of a new hall for mechanical production and construction of electromaterial storehouse were initiated.

Ostroj - Hansen + Reinders Opava, spol. s r.o., Ltd. Co. is a part of holding H+R GmbH whose registered head office is in Munich. Its daughter companies are: E+H - Poland, G+H - South African Republic, H+R - Germany and S+H - Russian Federation.

OHR is also a member of Association for mining and engineering technologies seated in Opava.
