Sales Focus

Ever since its foundation, ALTA has focused on countries in Central and Eastern Europe. In the first few years, it concentrated on conventional import/export operations complemented with bartering. Current sales activities include a range of commercial, financial, design, engineering and maintenance services. Export

ALTA's export activities currently focus on supplies of capital equipment, machine tools, technology for the mining and processing of ores and aggregates, construction material manufacturing equipment, and trade in other mechanical-engineering products. Supplies of capital equipment in the above-mentioned areas of industry figure among the company's most prominent export-related operations and are a key source of potential for the company's further development.

Imports

ALTA's import activities centre on the metallurgical industry and the energy sector, where ALTA records high volumes of trade in its traditional supplies of iron-ore pellets, metallurgical products, and fuel elements.

Full Sales Services

Besides its ordinary sales activities, ALTA is increasingly asserting itself as a general supplier of capital equipment, both in terms of the introduction of new production technology, and in the renovation and modernization of existing capacities. Through specialized design organizations, the company arranges the preparation of project documentation for its customer and provides the necessary technical assistance. Alongside the supply of equipment, ALTA has found itself providing large-scale engineering support related to the introduction of new production technology. As part of its sales support operations, ALTA offers comprehensive maintenance of opencast mining.

Production Capacity

ALTA's equity holdings in the TOS Kuřim production group have cemented its position as a supplier of capital equipment to the engineering industry. In August 2005, ALTA became the majority owner of TOS KUŘIM - OS, a.s., KULIČKOVÉ ŠROUBY KUŘIM, a.s. and SLÉVÁRNA KUŘIM, a.s. The output of TOS KUŘIM - OS, a.s. (automatic machining lines, special-purpose machinery, machining centres, planer type milling machines) features prominently in ALTA's exports, and is the cornerstone of large-scale projects related to heavy engineering, hauling machinery, and the automotive industry.

Financing

The stability of the company's financial results is a key factor in long-term sound relations with banks and insurance companies. Thanks to the position it has build up in relation to the banking sector, ALTA is capable of offering a whole range of lending, payment and hedging operations for its partners in both import and export activities. In terms of its terms of payment and pricing specifications, ALTA is fully competitive in the individual segments in which it operates.

Network of Foreign Agencies

An essential basis for the succesful development of sales is the company's active network of foreign agencies which are set up in target territories. ALTA's agencies are active in the Russian Federation (Moscow, Ekaterinburg), Ukraine (Kiev) and Belarus (Minsk). This network of representatives directly in the target territories gives the company one of its greatest competitive edges.

Foreign Subsidiaries

ALTA currently has capital interests in several subsidiaries abroad. The most significant are ALTA M in Moscow (Russian federation), ALTA UKR in Kiev (Ukraine), and ALTA URAL and TRANSPORT - 21 VEK in Ekaterinburg (Russian Federation).

Good Causes

ALTA is an active advocate of improved cultural and social ties between the Czech Republi and CIS countries. Since 2002, it has been the general partner of the Days of Russian Culture in South Moravia. Drama performances, film screenings, ballet, and concerts are held throughout the year and have proven very popular with the audiences who come along. Since 2004, the Russian Culture project has expanded to Prague. In the sphere of social and cultural relations, ALTA also supports the development of educational facilities and sponsors art and sports events not only in South Moravia, but throughout the Czech Republic.
